A mid-sized manufacturer of compound bows and archery equipment was performing poorly financially and operationally. Management tried a few times to make improvements and changes to the areas it thought was the root causes of the issues but that did not improve performance. The company therefore asked us to conduct an assessment to help identify root causes and recommend solutions.
Over one week, we analyzed all operations and interviewed the leadership team and key leaders in scheduling, inventory management, purchasing, manufacturing and facilities. Through this process we identified many of the root causes which were driving poor performance and recommended how to resolve these issues.
Over the course of one year, the company implemented these recommendations, some of which required organizational changes, and obtained the following results with little to no additional cost:
